Teaching in an Age of Ideology: Concluding Thoughts

Por Lee Trepanier:

Previously on The Imaginative Conservative I have written about some of the twentieth and twentieth-first century’s greatest thinkers as teachers: Eric VoegelinEllis SandozGerhart Niemeyer,John H. HallowellLeo StraussHarvey Mansfield, and Stanley Rosen. Although these thinkers disagreed with one another in their scholarship from time to time, they all were committed to teaching the true, the beautiful, and the good in their classroom. They sought to replace ideological dogma and doctrine with genuine thinking in the hope that students would be able to determine for themselves what the good life was.
